Installing Kadro on your device
Install it like an app, and what to do if it shows the wrong name.
Kadro runs in a browser, but you can install it so it behaves like any other app on your device: its own window with no address bar, its own icon on your taskbar, dock or home screen, and notifications that arrive through the operating system rather than only in the tab.
Nothing is downloaded from a store. It is the same Kadro you already use.
Installing it
- Chrome or Edge on Windows, macOS or Linux — open Kadro, then click the install icon at the right-hand end of the address bar. If you cannot see it, the browser menu has Install Kadro (Chrome) or Apps → Install this site as an app (Edge).
- Safari on iPhone or iPad — tap Share, then Add to Home Screen.
- Chrome on Android — tap the menu, then Install app or Add to Home screen.
If the app shows an older name
If notifications, your taskbar or your app list call Kadro something else, the app was installed before we changed the name.
Your device recorded the name at the moment you installed it, and it does not go back and check for a new one. Nothing we change on our side reaches an app that is already installed — this is how every browser handles it, and it is not something we can fix remotely.
Reinstalling fixes it, and only reinstalling will:
- Uninstall the app. On Windows, right-click it in the Start menu and choose Uninstall; on macOS, delete it from Applications; on a phone, remove the icon from your home screen.
- Open https://kadro.co.za in your browser.
- Clear the site data for kadro.co.za. In Chrome or Edge: click the icon to the left of the address, then Cookies and site data → Manage on-device site data → Delete. This step matters — it clears the old registration as well as the old name.
- Install it again, using the steps above.
You will be asked to sign in again afterwards. Nothing on your boards is affected; all of it lives on our servers, not on your device.
Turning off notifications instead
If the notifications themselves are the problem rather than the name, you do not need to reinstall anything — your notification preferences let you choose what reaches you and by which route.
